Avec Modelling Poetry (2012/2014) ce n'est plus l'histoire qui devient sujet, bien au contraire, il s'agit plutôt de futur, d'un futur incertain, impalpable mais qui prend forme sous nos yeux. Selon la NASA, dans environ 4 milliards d’années, la Voie lactée et la Galaxie d’Andromède devraient entrer en collision. Fort de cette révélation, Melik Ohanian, en développant un algorithme, transpose certains paramètres astronomiques comme autant de pixels qui fonctionnent à l’image des corps célestes de notre Univers. En rendant visible cette ultime catastrophe, qui semble aujourd’hui si lointaine, l’artiste nous plonge dans un temps palpable, saisissable.

With Modelling Poetry (2012/2014) history is no longer the subject , quite the contrary, it is more about the future, an uncertain, intangible future, but which takes shape in front of our eyes. According to NASA, the Milky Way and the Andromeda Galaxy will collide in approximately 4 billion years. Taking this information as a starting point, Melik Ohanian develops an algorithm translates a number of astronomical parameters into pixels operating like celestial bodies in our Universe. Through making this final disaster visible, we are plunged in a tangible, perceptible time.
